What we do (and do not do) with your photos, in plain words.
Uploading a photo of your home is an act of trust. We know it, and that is why we take it seriously. Here is concretely how Shopia handles photo privacy and your rights as a user.
First of all, your photos belong to you. In practice, Shopia uses them only to generate the result you asked for. On top of that, once processing is done, they serve no other purpose. In other words: no hidden reuse, no marketing analysis, no sharing with third parties.
On servers located in Europe, period. Indeed, your photos never transit through American or Chinese servers. This is not a detail, because it means your data is protected by GDPR, the strictest legal framework in the world for privacy.
On top of that, Shopia is a French company (SASU based in La Rochelle). Your photos are therefore under French and European law. As a result, in case of an issue, you have a simple and direct recourse.

30 days maximum. After this delay, your photos are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers. In other words, even we cannot access them anymore. It is irreversible and fully automated.
But why 30 days exactly? It gives you time to come back to your project, regenerate variants or download your results. After that, the data has no reason to exist, so it disappears.
This is probably the most important part. Clearly, here are our commitments:
In short, your photos serve to produce your results. That is it.
In principle, nobody: apart from the automated systems that generate your result. Indeed, no team member browses your photos day to day. That said, there is one exception: if you report a technical issue to support, then a technician may need to access them to diagnose. In that case, the access is logged and limited to the strict minimum.
You keep full control over your data. Concretely, at any time you can:
To exercise these rights, write to support@shopiahomedesign.com. As required by GDPR, the answer reaches you within 30 days maximum. The French CNIL details your rights on its official site.
Of course, you do not need to wait. From your Shopia dashboard, you can delete any project or generation at any time. As a result, the associated photo disappears immediately from our servers, with no recovery possible.
Want to wipe everything in one go? In that case, you can delete your account from the settings. Photos, projects, generations and history are then permanently erased.
In comparison, most competing tools store your data in the US or Asia, outside the protective European framework.
With Shopia, however, your photos stay in Europe, protected by GDPR, under French law. In other words, you are the only one deciding what happens to them.
